All countries require a valid passport (with a minimum of 6 months' validity). For the most up-to-date visa requirements, please contact your local embassy or consulate or speak with us. It is up to you to make sure that you have the right travel documents. Whether or not you need a visa for your trip depends on where you come from and where you are going. We try to keep the information below as up-to-date as we can, but rules do change, and sometimes without notice. Even though we give you the following information in good faith, it is very important that you check it for yourself and know that you are in charge of your own visa needs.
Let's use our guide to make it easy to get a visa. Here
VIETNAM: If you need a visa for Vietnam, you need to get one before your trip. You can't get one immediately when you get there because it takes processing time. If you are going to enter Vietnam through a land border, you will need to apply for a regular Vietnam visa. The Vietnam E-Visa is not accepted at many of the land borders we cross. You need to print out your visa and bring it with you when you check in. Print out this e-visa and keep it with you at all times while you are in Vietnam.
You can apply for a Vietnam E-Visa here. Entry with an E-Visa is accepted at 13 airports, 16 land borders, and 13 seaports—full details are available here.
Note: Be cautious when using online visa services. Some private visa agents and websites have been known to scam travelers or expose applicants’ personal information when applying for visas or “visa on arrival” approval letters. To protect yourself, always use official Government of Vietnam channels when arranging your visa. Visa, entry, and exit regulations—including rules on currency, customs, and quarantine—can change without notice. For the most up-to-date information, please contact the nearest Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate before traveling.
Starting a journey is usually exhilarating, and you don't want anything unexpected or risky to happen. Whether it's a medical emergency, a canceled trip, or lost or stolen luggage, it's crucial to have full protection. As a result, the ideal strategy is to plan ahead of time for each trip, and insurance is the greatest alternative. We recommend that you purchase travel insurance for yourself before each journey to a country.
What you need to bring depends on the trip you choose and the countries or regions you plan to visit. Since you have to carry your own bags, we suggest that you pack as little as possible. As a general rule, we try to make sure you don't have to walk with your bags for more than 15 to 20 minutes. This is why we suggest keeping the weight of your bags between 10-15kg/22-30lb. On Amazing trips, you shouldn't bring a suitcase. Most travelers bring a small to medium-sized backpack or rolling bag (please, no XXL ones!) because they need to fit under the beds on sleeper trains. You will also need a day pack or bag to carry water, cameras, and other electronics like iPods and cell phones.
During your journey, you’ll find that many of our hotels offer convenient laundry services for a small additional cost. For moments when you prefer to do your own washing, we suggest bringing a little eco-friendly, biodegradable soap — gentle on your clothes and kind to the environment. It’s a simple way to stay fresh and comfortable throughout your adventure, while helping to preserve the natural beauty of the places you explore.
The Vietnamese Dong (VND) is the currency you will use during this tour. You can exchange at the airport, the local bank, hotel, or travel agency...
Currency exchange rates in Asia can fluctuate frequently, so it’s a good idea to check the latest rates at www.xe.com before making any transactions. ATMs that accept Visa and Mastercard are widely available in major cities, but may be limited in smaller towns.
While US dollars are commonly accepted, we recommend carrying a few small, clean, and unmarked USD notes for convenience. Credit cards are accepted in many hotels, restaurants, and shops, though a small service fee of 2–4% may apply. Having some local currency on hand is always helpful for markets, street food stalls, and smaller purchases.
